Morgan Hill Pop-ups — Dining, Shopping, and More
The Morgan Hill restaurant and shopping scene is “popping” with a circuit of pop-ups bringing traditional indoor dining and shopping to outdoor spaces. While already popular pre-pandemic, the pop-up format has become a mainstay for retailers and restauranteurs looking to adapt, and even thrive, through evolving indoor business capacity limits. The happy result is safe access to several vendors in one place and enjoying great food in beautiful and unique outdoor settings.

DINING POP-UPS
The Granada Theatre downtown Morgan Hill quickly pivoted to pop-up dining outdoors with MOHI | Farm. The outdoor operation, with its hot pink neon MOHI sign and lush green walls, was a summer sensation with sharable farm-fresh plates and mouthwatering cocktails. They’re still going strong under the new moniker MOHI | Social.
Kelly Brewing Company has paired their brews with the likes of various mobile dining operations, namely pop up shop Vomakase. On recent Sundays, Vomakase has been serving up fusion Japanese and traditional dishes at Kelly’s, who also features food trucks like Fire and Rice and Ate3One on other days.
SHOPPING POP-UPS
Retail shopping is in on the pop-up action too! An outdoor marketplace on East 3rd Street, dubbed Sidewalk Saturdays, takes place Saturdays from 9 am – 1 pm, downtown near the year-round Morgan Hill Farmers Market. With over a dozen local vendors, like Fifth St Market and Hustle Leather, this is the place to get unique local gifts — and luck for you, the pop-up market has been extended into December. Coyote Creek Golf Club also curated a November Open Air Market, with vendors like Nonne’s Cannolis.

POP-UP PARK
We’d be remiss to discuss pop-ups without mentioning Morgan Hill’s Downtown Pop Up Park! This quirky, colorful park with a giant blue Adirondack chair was only intended to be temporary, but became a beloved attraction after a celebrity Twitter shout out. The owner of the lot has plans for a new fine art gallery in the location, so you may want to get your “blue chair selfie” before this little park disappears as fast as it popped up!
